I love portraits and my favorite model is my youngest
sister. She is not camera shy and what I like about her is that she's always
ready for a few pose. I have been obsessed on my model because for me I really
like the innocence of her smile and her expressive eyes. Her charm makes my
photos good, in my opinion. Whenever I take some of her portraits, I make it a
point that she would also look natural.
Normally, taking photos of children are really hard because
they have so much energy. As an amateur photographer, you also need to be
energetic. When they are running around, you also need to run to catch them and
engage yourself on their play. But do you know what's the best thing is? It’s
playing with your model through photography. You just need to encourage them to
smile bigger and give a cute pose whenever the camera is on and bribe them that
they need to look good on your photos because you will post it in facebook
later. I have to say that I am good at that thing. In fact, my phone is
overloaded with her photos.
Aside from capturing the model's mood by understanding how
she feels through play, I also take note of the background setting and
lighting. It doesn't have to be a good background all the time but it is how
you creatively use it to make your model stand out.
Here are some of my portraits.
